[Unpad.ac.id, 9/05/2016] State Owned Enterprise (SOE) must act as locomotive in realizing economic independence by pulling strategic domestic economy sectors. Therefore, SOE must constantly advance its skills and not only operate domestically.

Minister of State Owned Enterprises, Rini M. Soemarno, stated the above during her speech at the inauguration of Universitas Padjadjaran – BUMN Center of Excellence (Unpad-BCE) in Flores Hall Borobudur Hotel Jakarta, Monday (9/05). Unpad-BCE was inaugurated by Minister of SOEs, Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education Prof. M. Nasir, Minister of Communication and Informatics, Rudiantara, and Rector Unpad, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad.

On the occasion, the signing of MoU between Unpad and Pertamina, BPJS Kesehatan, PT Kereta Api Indonesia, Biofarma, and Ministry of SOEs was held. Also attending the event, several Directors of SOEs that have been collaborating with Unpad such as PT Telkom Indonesia, BRI, BNI, Bank Mandiri, Pupuk Kujang, PGN, Angkasa Pura II, Pos Indonesia, Pegadaian, Wijaya Karya, Kimia Farma, and others.

“I believe if we are working together in a synergy we could develop this country for the better. We support the foundation of Unpad-BCE as it could sharpen SOE skills in global competition. This program is also inline with SOE’s program Here for the Country held by Minister of SOE,” said Rini M. Soemarno.

Meanwhile Minister of Menristekdikti, M. Nasir, said that without cooperation with the industry, research would not flourish. Therefore, the Minister hoped that the presence of Unpad-BCE would build the competitive country economy, at least in South East Asia.

Rector Unpad, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, said that Unpad is proud to be given the opportunity to cooperate with several strategic partners. In collaborating with five main powers (known as Pentahelix collaboration) involving government, business, academicians, community, and media, Unpad hoped to be able to provide good path.

“Hopefully this step will be able to develop excellence for our own good,” said Rector.

Pentahelix Seminar
20160509114104_IMG_2622_resizedAfter the inauguration of Unpad-BCE, Pentahelix seminar with the theme of “Stimulation and Over the Top Management (OTT) for the Advancement of Telematics Industry” was held. The event of Unpad-BCE and the Pentahelix Seminar was held by the students of Business Management Doctorate Program Unpad.

The first session of the seminar brought the theme “OTT and Its Advancement for the Growth of Telematics Industry” with keynote speaker Minister of Communication and Informatics Rudiantara, and speaker Prof. Dr. Ernie Tisnawati Sule (Unpad), Ir. Kristiono (Mastel), I Ketut Prihadi Kresna, SH., LLM (BRTI), representatives of KawalHarga application, and Arif Budisusilo (Bisnis Indonesia) with Suryopratomo as moderator.

The second session held the theme of “OTT and Industry Balance in Indonesia” with Prof. Dr. Ahmad Ramli, SH., MH., FCBArb (Unpad), N. Awaluddin (Telkom), Dr. Judhariksawan, SH., MH (KPI), Hari Santoso Sungkari (BeKraf), and Dr. Ahmad Yani Basuki (LSF) as speakers.*
