Due to the higher education three duties (tridharma perguruan tinggi), besides carrying out academic activities, Faculty of Agriculture also develops research and community service. The laboratories in Faculty of Agriculture have developed various researches to produce innovative products based on the research umbrella developed by each academic programs or department. The community/farmers/users have been benefitted by these researches.

The researches carried are funded by competitive funds like from DIKTI (Competitive Grant, Fundamental Research, Young Researcher, Postgraduate Grant), Menristek (Research Incentive Grant Program), Department of Agriculture (KKP3T), KNAW (Netherland), World Bank and DIPA Unpad (Young Researcher and Unpad Excellent Researches). Besides the competitive research fund offered routinely every year, research fund are also given competitively from grant competition program  (PHK) gained by Plant Breeding Academic Program (I-MHERE Project – World Bank), Plant Pest and Diseases Science Department also Agriculture Cultivation Department which gained PHK A3 – Dikti General Director). Then there are also researches by Faculty of Agriculture lecturers funded through cooperation with public or private institutions relevant with each department or laboratory fields of study. Some lecturers also gained research funds from world organizations in postdoctoral fellowship programs.

The researches carried by Faculty of Agriculture lecturers commonly engaging students. This helps in providing topics and research materials so final paper assignment accomplishment can be faster and students finish their study faster too.

During the past five years, Unpad Faculty of Agriculture cooperated with: IPB Fruits Study Center, Agriculture Research and Development Agency of Agriculture Department, Agriculture Department of West Java, BPSB THP, LIPI/Bapenas, BB Biogen Bogor, Plantation Department of West Java, Food Agriculture Department West Java, Bandung Agriculture Department, Garut Government, PT. Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia, PT. Tirta Mas Mitra Niaga Sentosa, Pupuk Gresik, PT Pupuk Kaltim, Balitsa, Lembang,  PT Perusahaan Gula  Rajawali II,  PT. Tanindo Subur  Prima, PT. Syngenta Indonesia, PT. Prospek Karyatama, PT.Global Agrotech, Faculty of Agriculture  Utsonomiya University Japan, FH – Erfurt, German, UNESCO, etc.

Domestic Cooperation:

Cultivation Department

1. Hold Simadu and non Simadu pineapple event with IPB Fruits Study Center.
2. Hold undergraduate level researchers development program in plant breeding science and technology (Batch I&III ARM II, Research and Development Agency Agriculture Department)
3. Hold Meeting for West Java Ornamental Plants Agribusiness Actors, West Java Pineapple Agribusiness Actors Forum, and Mangosteen Farmers Forum Meeting with Provincial Agriculture Agency.
4. Hold Sapodilla apel kapas type event with BPSB THP.
5. Rolling fund utilization for IPTEKDA IV agribusiness with LIPI/Bapenas.
6. Molecular research on corn, mucuna, and rice with BB Biogen Bogor.

Agriculture Social Economy Department

1. Cooperated in research with West Java Plantation Agency, West Java Food Agriculture Plant Agency, and Bandung Agriculture Agency.
2. Carrying out Agriculture Development Main Plan with Garut local government.

Soil Science Department

1. Developed Cendawan Mikoriza Arbuskular inoculants product development with PT. Rajawali Nusantara Indonesia
2. Proposed liquid fertilizer efficacy with PT. Tirta Mas Mitra niaga Sentosa.
3. Fertilization socialization and research with Pupuk Gresik and PT. Pupuk Kaltim.

Plant Pest and Diseases Department

1. Made an agriculture development master plan for West Java.
2. Product development with Balitsa, Lembang.
3. West Java Food Diversification Policy Composing with West Java government.
4. Rodenticide development with PT. Perusahaan Gula Rajawali II, Jatitujuh, Majalengka.
5. Garut Main Development Plan with BAPPEDA Garut.
6. Pesticide efficacy test with PT. Tanindo Subur Prima, PT. Syngenta Indonesia, PT. Citraguna Saranatama, PT. Prospek Karyatama, PT. Global Agrotech, and PT. Prospek Karyatama.

International Cooperation:

Agronomy Department

1. Scholarship with Faculty of Agriculture, Utsonomiya University, Japan.
2. Student exchange and scholarship with FH – Erfurt, German.

Social Economy Department

1. Research with World Bank

Special Program Food Security (SPSF) with UNESCO.
