Unpad Faculty of Letters was officially opened since 1 November. Its opening was based on the Decree from Unpad Foundation No. 6/FS/531 on 1st of October 1958 about Faculty of Letters Opening. Two years later, the faculty’s status had stronger legality through the Decree of Minister of Education and Culture No. 66971/UU/60 on 12 August 1960 which declared Faculty of Letters as one of the faculties in Unpad.
Faculty of Letters was the eighth faculty in Unpad. At first it has four departments in undergraduate program; they are Indonesian and Sundanese Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, History, also French Language and Literature. Along with the challenges and people’s need for higher education, Unpad Faculty of Letters has significantly developed in various fields.
