Faculty of Psychology was established based on the Decree of PTIP Minister No. 037/SEK/PU/61, on August 18 1961. After that, Faculty of Psychology was officially announced in Unpad Hall on September 2nd 1961. Psychology is a science using behavior and other events, to understand process in human being which determines how people and other members behave. Unpad Faculty of Psychology is a leading psychology education service in Indonesia. it develops psychology education undergraduate program, psychology profession master, science master in psychology, and doctoral program in psychology.
Psychology education in Unpad always develops diagnostic or psycho diagnostic thinking ability, which is the Unpad Faculty of Psychology’s characteristic. The faculty also develops science, method in psychology through research. This goal has been developed since long time ago, when Unpad Faculty of Psychology is a pioneer in experimental psychology in Indonesia, by developing laboratories.
Other than conducting psychology education, Unpad Faculty of Psychology also aims science and method development on matters considered needed to apply psychology science in the society. As an education institution, Faculty of Psychology has vision, mission, and education goals.

Mission:
- Produce Psychology graduates who has integrity scientific development and practice.
- Develops scientific activities and implementation which supports mankind prosperity openly, innovatively, and continuously.
Goal:
Every graduates from Faculty of Psychology:
- Understands basic psychology knowledge which consists concepts and theories as basis to diagnose/ interpret human behavior (whether individuals, group, or community) based on psycho diagnostic mindset.
- Understands and mater basic assessment and intervention principles.
- Can conduct also use assessment and intervention methods.
- Has sensitivity and skill to observe, analyze, evaluate, formulate, and explain biopsychosocial problems happening in human lives.
- Can carry research, training, and social behavior analysis by using psychology principles.
- Has great motivation to follow and seek for psychology science development, whether as pure science or applied science which includes concept, theory, methods, and assessment tools.
- Thinks, behaves, act, and taking responsibility of their professional work based on Indonesian Psychology code of ethics.
- Capable and skillful in using technology they learn, for productive activities and service to the society.
- Can synergize psychology knowledge with other sciences in research, for psychology science development.
- Can cooperate with other experts in serving the society.
