Economics and Development Studies Student Association Organizes Microeconomics Competition 2012

[Unpad.ac.id, 23/11/2012] The student association of Economics and Development Studies Department Unpad organizes Microeconomics Competition on Friday to Sunday (23-25/12) in Unpad Campus Jl. Dipati Ukur 35 Bandung bringing the third year them “Improve Yourself with Microbusiness Sense”.

“The idea that we organize this competition begins from our desire to hold a competition that is different from other common competitions,” says Doli Parama, the head of the MC 2012 committee. Most competitions, in his opinion, only include paper presentations that participants have earlier prepared. MC 2012 aims higher with focus on microeconomics and includes both call for essay and field trip. The microeconomics competition consists of three phases, first of which is the qualification round that covers written test and quiz contest on the concept of microeconomics. The semi final and final rounds offer a prize and trophy worth 10 million rupiahs. As for the essay, participants are required to apply microeconomics in microbusinesses.

The field trip, specifically designed by the committee, will take participants to Tahu Susu Lembang business center and get them to understand deeper the concept of microbusiness in practice.

This year competition hosts 36 teams coming from universities all over Indonesia. The number of teams participating in the event meets the target that the committee has previously arranged.

“Hopefully next year, we will be able to host similar competition with bigger scope, involving universities in ASEAN,” says Parama.
