Program Socialization of Faculty of Agriculture Dean Candidates

[Unpad.ac.id, 11/12/2015] Dean Candidates Program Socialization event in Unpad on Friday (11/12) afternoon was held in Fakultas of Agriculture. Five Dean Candidates for Faculty of Animal Husbandary (Faperta) Unpad of 2016-2021 presented their programs in the event held in Student Center Hall in Faperta Unpad Jatinangor campus.

The Dean Candidates were Prof. Dr. Denny Kurniadie, Ir., M.Sc., Dr. Ir. Ronnie S. Natawidjaja, M.Sc., Dr. Sudrajat, Ir. M.P., Dr. Sc. Agr. Agung Karuniawan, M.Sc., Agr., and Anne Nurbaity, S.P., M.P., PhD. In the event moderated by Dr. Tomy Perdana, M.M., among the attendants were Rector of Unpad Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, Vice Rector, and Dean, academicians and education personnels from Faperta.

In his presentation, Dr. Agung conceptualized a strategy titled “Faperta 4 all”. The strategy was for Faperta to uphold local knowledge, global vision, professional attitude, and international competitiveness. In addition the program would be carried out to ensure professional implementation, to organize international scale learning, to manage world-class research with local excellence based, as well as to set up academic community who uphold science and technology.

Prof. Denny presented four strategies for Faperta development. The fourth program included: improving quality of graduates, faculty, and staff; creating a culture of competition, entrepreneurship and innovation; internationalization program; and improving facilities, infrastructure, and management. According to Prof. Denny, the future Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture needs integrity, good leadership, extensive network, smart and mastering information technology.

Program presented by Dr. Ronnie focused on redesigning Faperta institution, re-branding its image, and institutionalization of stakeholder networks. These strategies would increase capacity of study programs, research and innovation, human resources, institutional development, and youth development programs.

Anne Nurbaity, PhD. presented her strategies in relation with modern agriculture development, among others, improving institutional quality, having financial independence, performing efficient management, and internationalization and increasing reputation through development of education and quality of graduates. The program would be conducted through a work program with concept of “SIKI” (spirit, international, competent, innovative).

Dr. Sudarjat presented programs in relation with Faperta quality and competitiveness. His strategies were to develop transparent and accountable financial management, to improve graduates’ quality, to improve faculty and staff quality, as well as to increase strategic cooperation partnership. This strategy was in parallel with Unpad strategic plan of 2016-2021 to become competitive regional university. *
