[Unpad.ac.id, 6/08/2016] Collaboration between Universitas Padjadjaran with PT Telekomunikasi Seluler (Telkomsel) is further strengthened with the signing of the Charter of Cooperation between the two sides. The agreement was signed by Rector, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, and Sales Director of PT. Cellular Telecommunications, Mas’ud Khamid, in the Multipurpose Room 4th Floor Building 2 Unpad, Jln. Dipati Ukur No. 35 Bandung, Friday (5/08).

“We are thankful and truly appreciate Telkomsel who has been consistently committed, for its dedication to work continuously with Unpad,” said Rector.

In his speech, Rector also hoped that this cooperation activity could be stronger and more beneficial to society. “Together. I am sure partnership is built Telkomsel also has strong concern and assessment the community so the asset is extraordinary, by God’s will, not only for tangible targets but also to encourage development of the company including Universitas Padjadjaran. At the end it is for the good of society,” said Rector.

One of the activities of cooperation between Unpad and Telkomsel was Unpad Mobile launched on the occasion. Unpad Mobile is a smartphone application that could facilitate access to information for the academic community Unpad. This mobile campus app the first time applied in Unpad.

“It is also an appreciation for us. Hence, we are also motivated to continue developing these applications together, without stopping. It was characteristic of academic,” said Rector.

On the occasion, Chairman of the BEM Kema Unpad Navajo Bima Hadisuwarno demonstrated the use of the Mobile app. In this application, user is prompted to sign in using the PAUS ID. Various features have been available in Unpad Mobile, such as campus maps, forums, the value of each course, class schedules, and so on.

“For students, this app is useful for all in the interaction among the students, and also learning process,” said Navajo.

Meanwhile, Mas’ud Khamid said that this application could synergize university’s interest with students, parents, or even alumni. Information is presented in real time and always updated.

This event also held launch of Kartu Hebat Padjadjaran that can be used by Unpad students. With this card, students can take advantage of Telkomsel’s service with a cheaper price. “We designed these cards specifically for students of Unpad,” said Mas’ud.

In addition, Telkomsel also donated two campus shuttles that would be used as a means of free transportation at Unpad Jatinangor. According to Rector, campus transportation does not only facilitate mobility Unpad academic community on campus, but also support Unpad commitment to reduce number of vehicles in Unpad. Along with the increasing number of freight campus, Unpad will also limit the academic community who bring personal vehicles to campus.

“We are trying hard to push Unpad to be truly environmental friendly campus. One of the ways is by reducing the circulation of vehicles on campus, “said Rector. *
