[Unpad.ac.id, 31/10/2016] As one of the efforts to realize a clean and accountable bureaucracy, Universitas Padjadjaran is committed to be free from acts of bribery (extortion) and gratuities. Socialization was being conducted in Unpad to improve the understanding and sensitivity related to extortion and gratification.
Vice Rector for Governance and Resources Unpad, Dr. Sigid Suseno, SH., M.Hum revealed the necessity of preventing and reminding each other to avoid extortion and gratification. According to him, extortion and gratification are part of corruption. Dr. Sigid also emphasized to not let those acts happen at Universitas Padjadjaran.
“Let us together guard our institutions,” said Dr. Sigid in Socialization of Prevention of Illegal Payments and other Forms Illegal Activities in Universitas Padjadjaran, at the Hall of MM Faculty of Economics and Business Unpad, Jln. Dipati Ukur No. 46 Bandung, Monday (31/10).
Dr. Sigid said one of Unpad efforts to avoid their illegal charges is through the establishment of Integrated Service Unit. Through this unit, various services performed are systemized.
“This is one means to reduce corruption, bribery, extortion. The system can not be bribed,” said Dr. Sigid.

Unpad opened the service-related complaints of extortion and gratification that can be used by the academic community and stakeholder of Unpad, through the Public Information Service website http://ppid.unpad.ac.id managed by Documentation and Information Management Officer (PPID) Universitas Padjadjaran. Through PPID, it is certain that neither the report nor reported are protected by the Act.
For Dr. Sigid, this complaints service is also a means to improve the performance and systems owned Unpad. “Because if there is no complaint forum we feel we’ve been good,” he said.
Meanwhile, Director of Governance and Public Communication, Dr. Soni Akhmad Nulhaqim, S. Sos., M.Si., revealed that the socialization of related extortion and gratification was done to raise awareness and prevent various forms of corruption. Prevention is also done so that no parties are trying to release the commitment of the staff Unpad not to accept bribes. *
