Youths Must Be Cautions of Various Forms of State Stability Threats

This increase would need to be paralleled by an increase in nationalism and nationalities.

This was revealed by the Director General of Information and Public Communication, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (Communications) RI, Dra. Rosarita Niken Widiastuti, M.Sc. According to Niken, the threat to the country’s stability comes pretty much, ranging from drugs, corruption, terrorism, until the threat of the decline of nationalism itself.

“It is the responsibility of all parties, including government, universities, communities, and among the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government,” said Niken when delivering the keynote speech at the Forum Dialogue “Strengthening of nationalism and ethnicity in the Young Generation” held by Kominfo RI in cooperation with Faculty of Law Unpad at Bale Rumawat Unpad, Jalan Dipati Ukur No. 35, Bandung, Thursday (15/12).

Niken revealed that especially the younger generation of students has a big role in caring for the values of nationalism. Students as agents of change are expected to counter the effects assessed will degrade the values of nationalism.

In front of forum participants, mostly students of FH Unpad, Niken expected the role of law students in rectifying the various influences that are contrary to the values of Pancasila. This is due to Pancasila as the foundation of the Indonesian state.

Niken also mentioned that the five values contained in Pancasila should continue to be strengthened. If the New Order era five values were indoctrinated to the community, then in contemporary times these values must be applied in everyday life.
