Guang Xi University for Nationalities China Explored Cooperation with Unpad

[Unpad.ac.id, 23/12/2016] In the event of cooperation possibility with Universitas Padjadjaran, Guang Xi University for Nationalities, China visited to the Unpad campus, Friday (23/12). The visit was received by the Rector, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad in Rector Room, Jln. Dipati Ukur No. 35 Bandung.

Attending from Guang Xi University for Nationalities, Prof. Nong Kezhong as President, Prof. Zhu Wenxuan as Dean of Foreign Languages Department, and Tang Tanyi as teachers of Indonesian Language. On the occasion, also attending the Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences Unpad Drs. Yuyu Yohana Risagarniwa, M.Ed., Ph.D, Head of Study Program of Chinese Language and Culture Dr. Dewi Ratnasari, Director of Governance and Public Communications/Head of International Office, Ade Kadarisman, S. Sos., M.T, M.Sc., and Secretary of the International Office, Ronny, dr., Kes., AIFO., PhD.

The cooperation is planned to be carried out by both sides, including the exchange of students and lecturers. Students are expected to follow the Guang Xi lecture at Unpad to explore Indonesian language, and vice versa. From Unpad, cooperation is carried out in particular through Indonesia Literature Study Program and Study Programs of Chinese Language and Culture.

On the occasion, Prof. Nong Kezhong expected that cooperation is also carried out in research activities. Conducted cooperation can be made in various fields, not only about the language and culture.

“We have to learn to be able to progress better,” he said.

Rector also appreciated the cooperation plan. Rector hoped that the cooperation is not limited to the development of Chinese language in Indonesia, and vice versa. According to him, the introduction of language and culture between countries is expected to become a strong capital to support cooperation in other sectors.

“Speaking of the language and culture, this is actually the media to support other sectors. So it could later evolve with aspects of other science fields, and has not stopped between universities, but we became the media for their cooperation with the government or business sectors,” said Rector.

humas-unpad-2016_12_23-tiongkok-3-tediInterviewed after the event, Dean of FIB Unpad hoped that this cooperation can contribute to develop Study Program Chinese Language and Culture, including the assistance of a native speaker. Moreover, the cultural exchanges can also be done between Sundanese culture and China.

“For example, during a visit, we take our group to perform there, and vice versa. Or in a collaboration,” said Dr. Yuyu.

In line with Dr. Yuyu, Erlina, M. Hum from FIB Unpad Cooperation Office also wanted to improve the quality of existing studies program at Universitas Padjadjaran, including the capacity of lecturers. Advantage of cooperation is also expected to be felt by both sides.

“I hope at least there are two advantages of this cooperation. In addition to the development of Study Program Indonesian Literature and Study Programs Chinese Language and Culture Universitas Padjadjaran, we will also be developing lecturer program. Not only to help them, but also we help to develop Study Program Sastra Indonesia there,” said Erlina. *
