Faculty of Psychology Unpad was founded with the Decree of Ministry of Education and Culture No. 037/SEK/PU/61, on 18 August 1961, and was legalized in Graha Sanusi Hardjadinata Unpad on 2 September 1961. The establishment was based on the initiative of Kapt. Soemitro Kartosoedjono, Dipl. Psych. Kapt. Bob Dengah, Dipl.Psych., and the Army Psychologists (Perwira Psikologi) in order to build psychology education center for psychology cadres in Army.
Faculty of Psychology is the leading psychology education contributor in Indonesia and the pioneer of psychological research through its laboratory development. Apart from the education practices, it also aims to develop and apply useful psychological knowledge and methods to society.
Referring to its strategic plan, Unpad Psychology Education continuously develops diagnostic and psychodiagnostic approaches, known as characteristics of the faculty, as well as knowledge and method in psychology through research.
