[Unpad.ac.id, 24/11/2012] Success requires process. Lacking of practical experience and independence will hinder success. In addition, knowing the purpose in life and ability to adapt to new environment have similar significance.

“This condition is a challenge for the study management in the college, the stakeholders who design the curriculum with the study materials to prepare the students on facing the world of work, the main goal and the learning process are the final score that the students achieve,” Said the Chairman of the Executive Team Guidance and Counseling (TPBK) Unpad, Dr. Hj. Titin Nurhayati Ma’mun, M.S., in the Training of Trainer (TOT) Future Orientation (OMD) Student Achievement event at Unpad, Friday (23/11).
The event was held by TPBK Unpad at Wisma LAN Kiara Payung and attended by 48 achievement students from each faculty in Unpad. Each of the faculties sent three representatives to receive the training, and they are to be prepared as a Liaison Officer (LO) or as the OMD coordinator event which was held by the TPBK faculty in Unpad.
In the training which held in two days, the participants would receive the materials about environmental exploration, goal setting, commitment and action plan. The materials were presented by the people who are competent in their field, namely the faculty of Psychology’s teachers.
According to Dr. Titin, this training aims to develop the personality potency, so the creative students as the worker candidates or the entrepreneurs who create a new field of job are capable to determine their purpose of life which is going to be achieved. Moreover, OMD aims to define the strategies and the steps that would be performed by the students in order to achieve the self-strengthening.
“It must be stressed that the OMD training is no other than create your purpose of life, what plan that you should know in a short and middle terms, and what you want to do in a year ahead, in five years, and so on. Even prepare a backup plan to anticipate a failure,” he said in front of the participants.
With OMD the participants are expected to be independent, not depend on other people and could rely on their own abilities. The students are also important to have a hobby to help, friendly, and broad-minded, realistic, and responsible, also optimistic and positive.*
