[Unpad.ac.id, 10/01/2013] Unpad continuously encourages all lecturers and students to write articles and publicize them in mass media. This efforts is made more effective as Unpad gives away Anugrah Rucita Award and Anugrah Rucita Wicara to lecturers and students who write, publicize, and present their papers in mass media.
“The award is to motivate all Unpad lecturers and students to be more productive and to respond to any request for speakers in many mass media,” said the head of Unpad Public Relation, Weny Widyowati, when opening the event for award winners.
“Rucita Aksara means creative in composing words into meaningful piece of writing. As for Rucita Wicara, this means creativity as well as fluency in delivering speech,” said Unpad Rector, Prof. Ganjar Kurnia.
The winners are determined from 14 samples of newspapers and magazines published in August 2011 to July 2012. Within the range of time, as many as 52 lecturers and 118 students have been very active in writing for the newspapers and magazines. After a series of selection processes, Unpad decided to give the awards to several excellent lecturers, namely Yesmil Anwar, S.H., M.Si., (FH), Prof. I Gede Pantja Astawa (FH), Prof. Dr. Hj. Nina Herlina Lubis, M.S., (FIB), Dr. Asep Sumaryana, drs., M.Si., (FISIP), Prof. Dr. Romli Atmasasmita, S.H., LL.M., (FH), and Prof. H. Dede Mariana, M.Si., (FISIP). As for the students, Asep Salahudin, Iding R. Hasan, and Mu’ammar Wicaksono received the awards.
Unpad plans to get 908 lecturers to conduct research. “These awards should really be able to encourage them,” he concluded.
