[Unpad.ac.id, 7/02/2013] Unpad had been promoting SNMPTN 2013 in 26 cities in West Java from January 21 to 30. In addition, Unpad staff have also been briefed on how the SNMPTN is carried out.
“Having done this in 26 cities in West Java, we also had our staff briefed about technical issues on how SNMPTN 2013 is carried out,” said the head of Academic Administrative Bureau, Isis Ikhwansyah in Bale Sawala, Unpad Rectorate Building on Thursday (7/02).
Ikhwansyah explained that this year the new examination route is opened. What was formerly known as SNMPTN invitation route has now been changed into State University Collective Entrance Selection (SBMPTN)
This year, Unpad sets a quota of 60% for SNMPTN, which includes the affirmative action Unpad Nyaah ka Jabar selection process, and 40% for SBMPTN. Last year, only 10% were admitted via SNMPTN.
According to the head of the SNMPTN 2013 committee, Slamet Usman Ismanto, students can choose any study program that would suit their interest best. If in high school a student takes social science program, he/she is now allowed to take natural science study program in the university as long as he/she has the competence to study in that very program.
Ismanto added that Unpad, particularly each study program, has the obligation to let the community at large know about the study programs that Unpad offers and which one(s) are the most favorite.
