[Unpad.ac.id, 21/02/2013] In 2012, Unpad ranked 181st in the QS-Stars Global Rating System. This needs improvement, therefore, Unpad has to continuously organize and complete necessary data that will enable Unpad to rank higher the QS-Stars Global Rating Systems. Better rank means a more organized information system in Unpad.

“In 2011, our university ranked the 128th. Unfortunately, we slowed down and ranked 181st in the following year. This could possibly be due to our hardly-updating information and data. We have to fix this,” said the vice rector.
A team is made to collect and organize data and pieces of information, and modify them into data that QS-Stars are actually assessing.
Despite his optimism, the vice rector said that this is conducted not simply to get good rating. “Good rating is just complementary. What’s important is we can strengthen our data and information system, making them more reliable and valid,” said he.
The head of Administration, Planning, and Information System, Sudarma, said that the data that Unpad has are related to data which each faculty has organized in IKK (Performance Key Index). This means that QS-Stars rating also shows the quality of work performance that each faculty shows.
QS-Stars (Quacquarelli Symonds) is a company that focuses on education and academic rating on universities. It assesses and rates them. Progress on data processing was presented by Unpad QS-Stars team, chaired by Suseno Amien, before Senior Researcher QS Intelligence Unit, Mr. Samuel Wong.*
