[Unpad.ac.id, 12/02/2013] Unpad Swimming Unit (URU) became the overall champion by winning 7 gold medals and 9 silvers in the MMXIII UPH Olympiad Swimming Competition organized by Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH) on February 8-9, 2013. The team succeeded in making a total score of 454.

The team consisted of Asri Luvitawati (FH), Henry Geofrin Lase (Fapet), Muhammad Ilham W. (FH), Muhammad Ikram W. (Fapet), Gema Takbir Nugraha (Faperta), Muhamad Gilang (FPIK), Issan Septia Ilyas (FPIK), Ridwan Nurjaman (FIB), Ajeng Mutiara Putri (FIB), Mohammad Mukti Ajidharma (FIB), Muhammad Salafudin (FIB), Amanita Muskarianny (FEB), and Fadhl Lu’lu Zaka (FEB).
According to Gema, the head of URU, the achievement was unexpected because URU only made a rather brief preparation in 6 days. “We are so excited at winning the competition. It gives Unpad good name,” said he when interviewed in the Unpad Rectorate Building in Jatinangor on Tuesday (12/02).
The gold medals were won by Fadhl in the 200m individual medley, Amanita in the 50m butterfly stroke and 50m crawl stroke, and by M. Mukti Ajidharma, Fadhl M. Gilang, and Henry in the relay swimming. As for the silver medals, 1 medal was won by M. Mukti Ajidharma in the 200m crawl stroke, 4 medals by M. Mukti, Fadhl, M. Gilang, and Issan in the relay swimming, 2 medals by M. Gilang in the 100m backstroke and 50m crawl stroke, 1 medal by Fadhl in the 100 breaststroke, and 1 medal by M. Mukti in the 50m butterfly stroke.
URU plans to score more achievement in the future. “We are going to maintain this, and even score more in the future for Unpad. Hopefully, the university will help us better the swimming facilities,” concluded he.
