Teachers and Students of SMAN 1 Kota Jambi Pay an Academic Visit to Unpad

[Unpad.ac.id, 13/03/2013] As many as 86 students and teachers from Kota Jambi High School visited Unpad on Wednesday (13/03). “This is the third time that we visited this university. This time, we are looking for thorough information on study programs that Unpad offers,” said Syamsul Bahri from SMAN 1 Kota Jambi when giving his speech.

Prior to the presentation Unpad Public Relation Staff were about to give, Bahri suggested that the students pay a careful attention so that they would know which study program suits them best. The presentation covered detailed information on campuses, faculties, and admission system that Unpad runs.

Amril Husni, one of the teachers, expressed his concern on an affirmative action that Unpad is performing, which is “Unpad Nyaah ka Jabar” which allows more students from cities and regencies in West Java to be admitted in Unpad more easily. Responding to this concern, Safa Annisaa, Unpad PR staff, said that the program aimed to increase the number of students coming from 26 cities and regencies in West Java. The program would not disturb the admission system for student candidates coming from different provinces.

Upon hearing this, Husni added that academic skills are fundamental for any student to possess to get them admitted in Unpad. “Many of our graduates are admitted in this university. I fully certain that you can also be admitted in the program that you are interested if you increase your academic performance,” Husni concluded.
