This Year, Unpad Admission Examination for Undergraduate Program S-1 Is Held via SBMPTN Route

[Unpad.ac.id, 8/03/2013] Stakeholders inquire whether Unpad still admit students via independent examination route, so called Unpad Examination (SMUP). “Pursuant to the Minister of National Education Regulation No. 34 Year 2010 Article 6, state universities are allowed to admit students via independent examination route 40% out of the total quota,” said the vice rector of learning and student affairs, Prof. Dr. H. Engkus Kuswarn, MS. Accordingly, Unpad is admitting 60% of its students via SNMPTN, the national entrance examination, whereas the remainder will be admitted via independent entrance examination, now called SBMPTN.

The number of students admitted through the national examination is 3733 students, 900 of whom will receive endowment from Bidikmisi program. The quota set for the SBMPTN is 2010 students. As for the ongoing affirmative action, Unpad Nyaah ka Jabar, the number reaches 49 thousands.

Students admitted via SBMPTN are obliged to pay extra tuitions. However, this policy is still waiting for the regulation that the ministry of culture and education on UKT (standardized tuition) will issue. If UKT is finalized, paying extra tuition for students admitted via SBMPTN will not be necessary.

SMBPN will be made formal on March 16, 2013. Thus, registration is expected to start in April 2013. Fixed schedule is to be determined.
