IKA FK Unpad Shows Appreciation for Doctors who Died in Harness

[Unpad.ac.id, 8/04/2013] The Alumni Association (IKA) of Faculty of Medicine (FK) recently organized an event called Bike for Health in commemoration of world health day 2013 on April 7. In addition, this was also held as a token of appreciation for medical doctors who died in harness.

Open for public, as many as 340 participants took part in the bike race, which was divided into two categories Advanced Fun Bike and Family Fun Bike. “So much information on healthy living is provided here. Completely rewarding,” said Asep, one participant in the event.

“Exercise is one perfect way of maintaining our health. So, we are organizing bike race to promote healthy living,” sad Wendy Freely Nugraha, the head of the organizing committee. Nugraha added that besides regular exercise, eating healthy meal and avoiding stress are two main aspects in living a healthy life.

Besides the race, the event also included talk show on healthy living and blood pressure and award day for doctors who died while carrying out their duties. The awards were given to the late Erina Nazarudin from the class of 1996 who died in the interior of Papua and the late Meimun Hidayati from the class of 1993 who died in Lampung.

Awards were also given to doctors who scored achievements outside his professional expertise. Herman Sutrisno received the award for now he successfully carries out his duty as the mayor of Banjar in West Java.
