Unpad PSMIL Double Degree Students Go to Mie University in Japan

PSMIL-PPs Unpad students who will leave for Mie University Japan

[Unpad.ac.id, 5/04/2013] This coming Saturday (6/04), Unpad Graduate Program of Environmental Studies (PSMIL-PPs) is sending four of its students to take courses in Graduate School of Bioresources, Mie University in Japan. The program is funded by BPKLN Ministry of Education and Culture through Beasiswa Unggulan Program.

They, Naid Istiqomah, Mochamad Candra Wirawan Arief, Novi Arisman, and Fittrie Meyllianwaty Pratiwy, have spent their first year in the graduate program PSMIL and will continue their second year in the aforementioned university in Japan starting April 8, 2013.

They will only have to complete 20 credits to finish their graduate degree in Mie University after previously completed similar credits in Unpad, ten of which are transferred in admitted in the Graduate School of Bioresources. As for Japanese students going under the same program to spend their second year in Indonesia, similar procedure also applies. In addition, the students can benefit from joint supervision and joint publication which are organized by the two universities. The program is expected to move onward, encouraging more rewarding programs such as student exchange, teacher exchange, staff exchange, joint research and joint seminar programs.

As of today, PSMIL runs double degree programs collaborating with Mie University and joint degree with Twente University in the Netherlands. This is in accordance with the university’s vision, towards excellence in providing world class education.
