[Unpad.ac.id, 28/05/2013] Volunteer Corps of Indonesian Red Cross Unpad Unit successfully organized Water and Sanitation (Watsan) Training for Volunteers Corps in West Java, DKI Jakarta, and Banten. The training was held on Friday to Monday (24-26/5) at the Red Cross Watsan Quarter and the office of the Coordination of Private Universities Area IV, Jatinangor.
Many university volunteer corps organizations, namely from Unikom, Unpak, Unsil, Unpar, and Undip, as well as regional organizations from Serang, Bogor, and Bandung took part in this training. It is stated in the release that this training covers the method of processing slop into clean water and drinking water, and making good sanitation for natural disaster victims.
“I salute Unpad Unit for organizing and initiating this program. This is the first Watsan training held by a university unit,” said Ebnu, coordinator of Watsan Indonesian Red Cross.
Program coordinator, Anggun expressed her wish that materials from this training would be applied when helping the victims, and also her gratitude to Watsan Indonesian Red Cross, participants, and the committee for the success of the event.
