Unpad Student Choir performs in Festival XXI Choralies France, representing Asia

[Unpad.ac.id, 25/06/2013] As a pre-departure preparation to European choir festival, Unpad student choir (PSM) is organizing a pre-competiton concert bringing a them ‘Enchantment of Indonesia’ on July 2 in the Grha Sanusi, Unpad campus in Bandung and on July 5 in Sapta Pesona Building, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in Jakarta.

Having been elected as Grand Prix champion in the 48th Montreux Choral Festival in Montreux, Switzerland, PSM, together with other fifteen choirs, receives the honor to perform in the prestigious XXI Choralies Vaison la Romaine, France. The festival held every three year only presents excellent choirs, known for their outstanding performance and quality in many international competitions. The special invitation for PSM to perform comes directly from Jean Wilkens, one of the adjudicators in Montreux competition.

Under the supervision of Arvin Zeinulla, PSM is going sing songs in Spanish, Indonesian traditional songs, in addition to performing traditional dances and playing traditional Sundanese musical instruments, i.e. angklung.

PSM will also perform similarly in the 59th International Contest of Habbaneras and Poliphony, in Habbaneras, Spain, as a second track diplomacy in collaboration with the Indonesian Embassy in France.
