[Unpad.ac.id, 17/09/2013] Commemorating its golden anniversary, Unpad faculty of animal husbandry (Fakultas Peternakan) invites its alumni, classes of 1963 to 2008, to take part in an event called Going Home Fiesta at Plaza Fapet Unpad campus in Jatinangor.
Iwan Setiawan, dean of Fapet, argues that the faculty has contributed so much to the advancement of applied research products for the society at large. “Our research products cover Customix mineral, Agromix, home-scaled biogas made of cow-dung.” The products, to name but a few fowl feed production via cacao bioconversion and semi-automatic chicken slaughtering machine, have not only commercial values but also educational functions. Setiawan hopes that the research continues and is able to create more applicable products.
Fransisca Nelwan Mok, Fapet alumna now works as managing director corporate banking at PT Bank Mandiri, seconds Setiawan, and asks Fapet graduates and students to continue building the nation and strengthen unity.
Fapet Goes Home is also filled in with numerous programs starting from feed training, waste management workshop, and livestock management for community members at large and students. In addition cattle contest, funbike, Ayam Pelung contest, ram fight, public lecture, and stadium generale on entrepreneurship organized by Bank Mandiri. In December, Fapet Unpad is organizing open discussion on curriculum in collaboration with ILRI, national seminar, and Dosen Goes to Farma.
