[Unpad.ac.id, 8/10/2013] Unpad is organizing events to commemorate its 56th anniversary, involving local community members.
“We have been organizing these events since August and are engaging with local communities as well as local government to participate,” said the vice rector for research and community service, who is also the head committee of Unpad 56th anniversary in a press conference at Unpad executive lounge on Tuesday (8/10).
This year Unpad is holding Environment Week (26/08-22/09), National Congress for Scholars (7/09), Unpad’s Gratitude (10/09), Scientific Oration (11/09), Arts Performance, Sports Festival, and Entrepreneurship (FORSI) (2/09-11/10).
In addition, other events include (1) National Seminar on the Nation’s Competitiveness held on two separate days (October 10 and 21, 2013) in collaboration with Bappenas—National Development Planning Agency, (2) Education Festival 2013 for high school students in West Java Province, Banten and Jakarta held on October 26-27, 2013 at Bale Santika Unpad Jatinangor. (3) Padjadjaran Traditional Olympiad (Ootrad) on November 3, 2013, in which traditional Sundanese sport competitions such as Padjadjaran Alegoris March, Rampak Gendang, Galah Asin, Perepet Jengkol, Engrang, Panahan, Sumpit, Sorodot Gaplok, Panggal, Eksibisi Korfball, and Sapta Lomba take place and overall winner is awarded Kujang Padjadjaran trophy, (4) Unpad Award on November 9, 2013 at Bale Santika in Jatinangor, (5) Indonesia-Malaysia Cultural Symposium (SKIM) in collaboration with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) on November 12-14, 2013, (6) 2nd Open Table Tennis Tournament on November 23-25, 2013, a national tournament open for public held in Grha Sanusi Hardjadinata Bandung. (7) U-Camaintian chess competition n November 27, 2013, (8) Book Fiesta in collaboration with Indonesian Publisher Association (IKAPI) of West Java Region on December 9-13, 2013, (9) Unpad Motekar Award to appreciate Indonesian innovators on November 12, 2013.
“We cover almost all aspects of science, technology, and arts. We also invite all community members to participate,” Setiawan conluded.
