[Unpad.ac.id, 2/12/2013] International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences (IAAS LC Padjadjaran University) successfully organized “IAAS Art Competition” with the theme “local wisdom” at FISIP Campus, Jatinangor, on Saturday, November 30, 2013. IAAS Art Competition or shortened by the IAC 2013 is an activity that is intended for high school students from all over Bandung and Sumedang.
The competition aimed at introducing the importance of local wisdom to the younger generation through various creative media in the era of globalization. The competition categories intended for high school students are speech contest and wall magazine, while photography competition is also intended for university students from all over Indonesia. IAC 2013 was held in Building B of FISIP Universitas Padjadjaran. The photography competition exhibition was held in the campus park of Unpad Faculty of Social Sciences, displaying 40 photos from of all regions in Indonesia with local knowledge of each region
The students seemed very enthusiastic participating in the series of competitions from the beginning until the announcement of the winners. As for the speech contest, the 1st place was won by SMAN 1 Jatinangor and the 2nd place was won by SMAN 8 Bandung. As for the wall magazine contest, SMAN 1 Tanjungsari won the 1st place and the 2nd place was won by SMAK Yahya. As for the photography competition, the 1st place was won by STIKOM Bandung and the 2nd place was won by LISES Padjadjaran. All winners received a cash prize, trophy and certificate.
“We expect IAC 2013 to not only be a competition for the race course and then get a prize but also to make high school student grew to understand the importance local wisdom, and can also be an exchange of thoughts”, said Bunga Permata IAC as the project officer , 2013.
In the future, IAAS Art Competition will be a regular event of IAAS LC UNPAD for the introduction of knowledge to the high school student with a different theme every year.
