[Unpad.ac.id, 31/12/2015] Kuningan Regent warmly welcomed programs prepared by Universitas Padjadjaran in support of development process in West Java, including in the district of Kuningan. Unpad viewed that universities must be giving contribution to the community.

“The success of a university is no longer assessed conservatively. It is not only determined by the number of graduates with a high GPA, or by ‘A’ accreditation, even though it is already given. We would be pleased if Univeristas Padjadjaran has active contribution in regional development, “said the Rector Unpad, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, during a working visit to the office of Kuningan Regent, Wednesday (30/12).
For Kuningan, Rector mentioned that at least three programs have been and will continue to be developed in the future. Those programs are program of study affirmation for undergraduate students, program of capacity building for government officials through graduate education, and program to realize establishment of a public university in the district of Kuningan.
“It is part of the extension of ‘UNPAD Nyaah ka Jabar’ program that has been implemented all along. Unpad wanted to advance together with West Java community toward the global, “said Rector in front of Kuningan Regent, Hj. Utje CH. Suganda, and leaders of the regional work units (SKPD) Kuningan District.
While Kuningan Regent said they were proud and delighted to Unpad’s commitment to participate actively in the areas development in West Java. “Of course, we welcome this as it will contribute to the welfare of the people. This is one spirit that we profess in providing welfare for the people, “said Kuningan Regent with enthusiasm.
Solar Water Pumps

During the event, Rector and Kuningan Regent also attended formal ceremony to officiate Solar Water Pump in Village Sukajaya, District Cimahi, Kuningan. This program is a collaboration between Faculty of Agriculture Unpad and West Java Provincial Government, supported by the Government of the Kuningan District.
This program is a mitigation and adaptation to the effects of drought and weather anomaly for farmers in Kuningan Regency. The program is held in two villages, Sukajaya Village and Nanggela Villange, District of Cidahu, Kuningan.
