Program Socialization of Faculty of Communication Dean Candidates

[Unpad.ac.id, 14/12/2015] Two Dean Candidates for Faculty of Communication (Fikom) Universitas Padjadjaran, Dr. Atwar Bajari, M.Si and Dr. Dadang Rahmat Hidayat, held program socialization today, Monday (14/12) in Auditorium Pascasarjana Fikom Unpad, Jatinangor. This program socialization session was held as part of the series of selection for Faculty Dean positions in Unpad, for the period of 2016-2021.

“This selection process will become consideration aspect for appointment of Dean and Vice Dean by the Rector,” said Vice Rector for Governance and Resources Universitas Padjadjaran, Dr. Sigid Suseno, SH, M. Hum in his speech. The event was also attended by Rector, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad. Acted as moderator at the event was Dr. Jenny Ratna Suminar, lecturer from Fikom Unpad.

In his presentation, Dr. Dadang elaborate the motto of his program, namely “We’re Advanced” of Credible, Transparent, Accountable, and Kindness. The aims of his program were to gain recognition, benefit, and happiness, in short “Aku Tabah” (I’m Resillient).

With the program, he aimed to transform Fikom Unpad to have excellent organizational governance and human resources. In addition, he also proposed to reorganize integrated information systems and archival, to expand community and networking cooperation, to re-internationalize, transforming the deparment as center of excellence or “backbone”, and creating comfortable campus environment.

The other Dean Candidate of Fikom, Dr. Atwar elaborated his strategy to achieve “Fikom Hade”, i.e. Fikom that is kind for everybody, oneself, and the environment, with development of national and international network, synergy of HUPS, and ALG in human resource and institutional development, developing four program pillars for student including competitiveness, innovative and creative, entrepreneur, and ethics, orientation of health and religiosity harmony, repositioning study center and laboratories for learning development and institutional independence, superior communication, and increasing benefits and revenue for the welfare of the faculty.

The word “hade” in Dr. Atwar’s ‘Fikom Hade’ is elaborated as hade niat (trust) jeung pikiranana (creativity), hade lengkah jeung carana (scientific rigor), hade gawe jeung hasilna (professionalism), hade tanggung jawabna (responsibility), hade pamor lain ku pamer (excellence and humble), hade ku sumanget jeung pangorbanana (encouragement), and hade gogog jeung tagogna, hade tata jeung basana (credibility and communication).
