[Unpad.ac.id, 28/01/2016] ] The Province of West Java must improve health care sector. One of the efforts is to increase the supply of doctors and specialist doctor in hospitals and health centers of 27 City Regency in West Java. Therefore Universitas Padjadjaran is to start Padjadjaran-Jabar Academic Health System (Sikap Jabar).
Rector, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, said that “Sikap Jabar” is a format supported by Unpad to sustain availability of human resources in health care field. This is said by Rector during Health System Development Coordination Meeting of West Java in Cirebon, Indramayu, Majalengka and Kuningan (Ciayumajakuning) at Grage Sangkan Hotel in Kuningan, Wednesday (27/01).
The Coordination Meeting was attended by leaders and representatives of Hospital and Health Department in districts of Indramayu, Cirebon, Cirebon Regency, Majalengka Regency, and Kuningan Regency. Along with the attendance are Regent of Kuningan Utje CH Hamid Suganda and Director of West Java Provincial Health Division dr. Hj. Alma Lucyati, M. Kes.,M. Si., MH. Kes.
Meanwhile, attending from Unpad are Vice Rector of Governance and Resources Dr. Sigid Suseno, M. Hum., Head of Rector Special Staff Prof. Ramdan Panigoro, Leadership of Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Psychology, and Faculty of Nursing.
According to Rector, it is time for various sectors to be built and work together in field of health. Aside from sectors that play a role in the program of ministries and infrastructure funding program, a sector that is able to build innovative development of human resources.
“If this format can be run properly, it will encourage the health system as a whole,” said Rector.
Based on current condition of health services, Jabar has only one Hospital Health Care Providers (PPK) III, or Provider Advanced Health Care Specialist Hospital. It is due for West Java to develop KDP RS III in other areas.
With this system, Universitas Padjadjaran encourages regional areas in West Java to establish one RS KDP III. For Ciayumajakuning region, Unpad has confirmed Gunung Jati Hospital, Cirebon to be developed into PPK III Hospital.
Aside from encouraging development of PPK III Hospital, with this format, Universitas Padjadjaran also encourages balanced distribution of availability of health care personnel in hospitals and health centers throughout the regions in West Java. It also continues to be supported by Unpad to prepare graduates of Faculty of Medicine to be located onto regions of West Java.
Based on the data, Faculty of Medicine admits 250 students from SNMPTN and SBMPTN annually. With these efficiency numbers, the faculty is likely to produce 250 doctors annually. At the level of specialists education, Universitas Padjadjaran annually admits 300 students of Specialist program thus the opportunity to have 300 specialist doctor graduate each year.
“At least, the number of graduates of Physicians and Specialist Physicians can be located to the entire region of West Java,” said Rector.
Therefore, Rector asked the representatives of hospitals in five regions in Ciayumajakuning to coordinate in order to illustrate the demand of human resources in institutions. “Based on these requirements, we will be have priority map for the regions,” said Rector. *
