[Unpad.ac.id, 16/03/2016] Regent and Vice Regent of Pangandaran, H. Jeje Wiradinata dan H. Adang Hadari, were meeting Rector of Universitas Padjadjaran Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad in Rector Room Iwa Koesoemasoemantri Campus, Jln. Dipati Ukur 35 Bandung, Wednesday (16/03). This meeting was held to discuss region development, including following up the development plan of Universitas Padjadjaran campus in Pangandaran.
During the meeting, Jeje discussed the continuation of Unpad cooperation plan with Pangandaran in fields of health and education. As reported earlier, in the health sector Unpad has committed to improve health services quality in all areas of West Java through the program of Academic Health System Padjadjaran, West Java (Sikap Jabar).
Regarding the placement program and the Specialist Doctors in 27 districts/municipalities in West Java, Jeje expected Unpad to not simply placing Doctor and Specialists, but also to contribute in designing health quality standards.
In this sector several development programs would be run by Jeje in Pangandaran District as a designated Tourism Destination Region (DTW), including construction of Hospital in Pangandaran, and development of health centers and health clinics within DTW standard.
“We are also supported by the government in construction of hospital in order to be a class B Hospital,” said Jeje.
Therefore, Jeje hoped Unpad would also contributed to health quality standards design. In response, Rector Unpad said that Unpad would participate actively in commitment to help the district. Pangandaran.
“We will help implement the plan,” said Rector.
At Pangandaran’s area, continued the Rector, Bumi Walagri Padjadjaran would be established. This building will be used as a space for students and lecturers from all scientific fields at Padjadjaran University to conduct research, and community service.
Bumi Walagri Padjadjaran has been built in several areas in southern coastal area of West Java, namely: Ujung Genteng, Cidaun, Rancabuaya, and Cipatujah. In the Pangandaran area itself, Bumi Padjadjaran Walagri is planned to be built in the district of Parigi.
“By becoming part of Unpad network, we also will synchronize everything, including the IT system. Thus shall there be a problem, reference can be done in telemedicine, “said Rector.
In the field of education, Universitas Padjadjaran upon support of West Java provincial government would build campus outside its region. The plan has been agreed during the visit to the Regional Secretariat Unpad to Kab. Pangandaran last January.
“For 2016, we basically participate based on development priorities of Pangandaran. We would also give input of how academic approach is supposed to be, “said Rector related to the plan.
Jeje offered Unpad to utilize Marine Center that would be built by Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries in Pangandaran. Another case proposed by Pangandaran Regency cooperation is the application of ICT in schools as well as human resource development.
Besides Rector, the meeting was also attended by Vice Rector for Research, Community Services, Cooperation, Innovation, and Business Unpad Dr. Keri Lestari, M.Si., Apt., Head of Rector Special Staff, Prof. Ramdan Panigoro, PhD., and Director of Parnership Unpad Parikesit, Ph.D. From Pangandaran Regency also present representative of Bappeda and Pangandaran Regency Education Board.*
