[Unpad.ac.id, 1/04/2016] Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa Keluarga Mahasiswa (BEM Kema) Family of Student Executive Body (BEM Kema) Universitas Padjadjaran won first place for Bandung Lautan Api Socialization Competition of”70th Bandung Lautan Api” organized by Department of Youth and Sports (Diaspora) Bandung on March 24, 2016. In the competition, BEM Kema is represented by 8 members from the Department of External Relations and Strategic Action.
At Unpad PR office, Jatinangor, Thursday (31/03), Head of Department of External Relations and Strategic Action of BEM Kema Unpad Taufiq Rahman said that in the competition, the participants, members of organizations or youth community in Bandung , were assigned to compose speeches as part of socializing anniversary of Bandung Lautan Api. Eighth students involved in this competition is Taufiq Rachman Hakim, Ucu Feni, Ferry Gunawan, Maulana Hafid, Alfath Fadhlurrahman, Satia, Gumelar, Arifo, Afif, and Rizky.
In addition to speeches, BEM Kema Unpad also perform socialization through with theatrical performance, poetry readings, and distributing flyers of Bandung Lautan Api in Turangga district, Bandung. “It was a socialization for general public,” said Taufiq.
According to Taufiq, many communities are no longer showing concern for the anniversary of Bandung Lautan Api this. Result from socialization of BEM Kema Unpad some time ago, many people do not know that March 24 is celebrated as the Day of Bandung Lautan Api. Many positive appreciations are obtained from the public regarding this action of BEM Kema Unpad.
“Thankfully, many of them are enthusiastic. They praised us young people who show concern and set reminder Bandung Lautan Api celebration, “said Taufiq who also compete as one of the orator in these activities.
Taufiq also revealed that in BEM Kema management has increasing sense of nationalism as one of its priorities nowadays. Therefore BEM Kema Unpad wanted to participate in this competition aside frombeing active in other activities as part to increase our sense of nationalism.
“We did not have any achievement target this time, win or lose, we would have conveyed the spirit Bandung Lautan Api, “said the student of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) Unpad.
With their winning, they want continue to advancing for the better, in terms of speech skills and of increasing nationalism of the community through other forms of socialization.
