[Unpad.ac.id, 8/04/2016] Community of Fisheries and Marine Science Mina Indonesia Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK) Unpad held
an introduction of marine and fishery sector event for students of SDN Neglasari Jatinangor, Sumedang, Wednesday (6/04). This event was organized in relation to the framework of Celebrating National Fishermen’s Day on 6 April.

“Introduction of maritime especially regarding fisheries and marine sector to elementary students is a way to instill values of maritime love from early age. They will become proud of being born in a country rich in marine resources and fisheries so that someday they can be motivated to advance maritime sector,” said Andri Saputra, Chairman of Indonesian Community of Mina, in a statement received by PR Unpad.
In these activities, students were introduced on potential of Indonesia maritime and fishery potential. The students were taught to share passion for maritime Indonesia and not forgetting to promote and advance Indonesia maritime to elementary school students.

In addition to introducing maritime sector, the community also donated maritime books to the school. Hopefully, more students would be interested in getting to know and learn about maritime.
The public elementary school teachers of Neglasari welcomed this activity. They hoped the introduction of this maritime could be done annually because of the importance of early introduction of maritime value. *
