[Unpad.ac.id, 5/05/2016] Community of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs Science (Mina Indonesia) Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) Universitas Padjadjaran held training of processed fishery products manufacture, of fish floss and fish roulade. The event was held at SMEs Bandung Fish Floss House, on 30 April 2016 and was attended by students FPIK Unpad.

The activity was held as part of FPIK Unpad student support program in the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) to continue promoting economic growth in downstream sector of processing of fishery products. Downstream sector is proven to increase added value, positive impact on the income and welfare increase.
“Training of processed fishery products manufacture is a real effort to support downstream fisheries products. Also this training is also beneficial to directly introduce students to the world of fishing and manifestation of real collaboration between practitioners and academics,” said Andri Saputra, the coordinator of these activities.
Participant welcomed this training enthusiastically. In addition in getting the material on the manufacture of products processed fishery products, they also gain knowledge about the strategy of becoming a successful entrepreneur in the field of fisheries. This material is delivered directly by fisheries business practitioners, Johan Yuniarto, who is also the owner of Bandung Fish Floss House.
During the activity, Johan Yuniarto said that this training can be skill improvement for students of fisheries, as well as a stimulus so that students can be more attached to fisheries. Hopefully, the participants can be motivated to be a successful entrepreneur in the field of fisheries, able to create new jobs for the community.
“Hopefully the trainings of combining fisheries practitioners and academics could continue to be carried out every year, so that students can better understand the complexities of the real world’s fisheries and be an important learning event to promote fisheries sector in the future,” he hoped. *
