[Unpad.ac.id, 4/05/2016] Universitas Padjadjaran collaborated with IndonesiaX to jointly contributed as online course provider in indonesiax.co.id. The signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was done by Rector Unpad Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad with the President Director of IndonesiaX, Lucy Mangoendipoero Pandjaitan, in Multipurpose Room Bulding 2 4th Floor Unpad, Jln. Dipati Ukur No. 35 Bandung, Wednesday (4/05).

“This activity is in line with Unpad goal. Since we are working to make various activities for university to make stronger impact to the community, “said Rector.
University Padjadjaran has been attempting to encourage open pattern of extended campus where education activities do not just confined to a campus. “I believe with the technology nowadays, especially with the outstanding initiative launched by IndonesiaX, Unpad can be a more open campus. The aim is not only to contribute what is owned by the university, but the other side is becoming facilitation for reference, from the community on what has been established by the college, “said Rector.
Thus, not only that Unpad can contribute to society through the development of the knowledge, but this pattern also becomes an effort to maintain the quality standards of the university. Communities can posses more powerful controls to maintain a standard of university knowledge.
“This is a remarkable thing. On one hand we can make contribution while on the other hand we also maintain quality control and the development of the knowledge we have, “said Rector.
From Universitas Padjadjaran, the inaugural course will be delivered by Prof. Dr. Budi Setiabudiawan, dr., Sp.A-K., M.Kes as Director of Education Unpad, who also serves as Chairman of Coordinating Working Unit Pediatric Allergy Immunology Indonesia (IDAI). Prof. Budi will provide an online course entitled “Children Healthcare: Primary Prevention of Allergy”.
The MoU signing was also witnessed by Chairman of Advisory Board IndonesiaX, Prof. Muhammad Nuh. On the occasion, Prof. Nuh said that the activities of IndonesiaX online course are part of an effort to educate the nation. IndonesiaX is a non-profit organization that offers a platform of Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). IndonesiaX offers a variety of interesting topics online courses from the best university lecturer and executive management of well-known national and international companies.
“We want to fill the empty spaces that has not been filled by existing institutions. Simultaneously we want to be the melting point of various institutions, “said Prof. Nuh.
Meanwhile, Lucy added that IndonesiaX are also aiming to raise teachers or lecturers’ profiles, as well as top leaders of a number of companies. Learning is fun, and can be accessed for free by anyone, anywhere.
IndonesiaX’s main target is those who live in remote areas, beside all Indonesian people in general, not only to improve one’s knowledge in hard skills, but also to improve the life skills of the participants.*
