[Unpad.ac.id, 6/06/2016] Starting academic year 2016/2017, students of Faculty of Economics (FEB) and Faculty of Law (FH) Universitas Padjadjaran would conduct their lecture activity in campus Jatinangor. FEB Unpad would conduct lectures in building south of SOR Bale Santika, while FH in building of Faculty of Nursing.
Vice Rector for Governance and Resources Unpad, Dr. Sigid Suseno, S.H., M.Hum., said that lecture activity in Jatinangor is applied for new students in Academic Year 2016/2017 and future classes. Meanwhile, old students of FEB and FH still conduct lecture activity in campus Dipati Ukur Bandung.
Dr. Sigid explained that the utilization of campus Jatinangor for lecture activity of FEB and FH is conducted within overall framework of Unpad campus arrangement. In accordance with concept of Unpad Transformative Triangle initiated by Rector Unpad Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, three main campuses of Unpad (Jatinangor, Dipati Ukur, and Arjasari) will have their respective roles.
“Based on the concept, Jatinangor is planned to be used for undergraduate lectures and Wildlife Science Technology; campus Dipati Ukur is used for Graduate lectures and display of products of excellence from Universitas Padjadjaran, and campus Arjasari is for downstream research and vocational schools,” said Dr. Sigid at his office on Monday (6/06).
Further, Dr. Sigid explained that the activity transfer plan of FEB lectures and FH to Jatinangor is not a new policy. It has been listed in the initial development concept of Jatinangor. “This would be implementing first policies, before all will be concentrated here (in Jatinangor),” he added.
In relation with buildings preparation, Dr. Sigid has targeted the entire buildings to be ready for use in the upcoming academic year of 2016/2017. The previous Faculty of Nursing building would be renovate to be adjusted with academic needs of FH Unpad. Meanwhile Faculty of Nursing will use new lecture building in the area between Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Psychology.
“By conducting lectures activity at Jatinangor, it is expected to build stronger unity of Unpad,” said Dr. Sigid. *
