FTIP Unpad and Disperindag Jabar Cooperating in Flourishing New Entrepreneurs

[Unpad.ac.id, 14/07/2016] Program Study of Agriculture Industrial Technology Faculty of Industrial Technology of Agriculture (FTIP) Universitas Padjadjaran signed a cooperation agreement with Department of Industry and Commerce of West Java Province for the selection, training, curriculum formulation and monitoring of formulation of new entrepreneurs formation in West Java handled by Disperindag Jabar. Signing the agreement were Head of Industry and Trade Jabar, Dr. Hening Widiasmoko and Dean of FTIP Unpad, Dr. Ir. Edy Suryadi, MT in West Java Industry and Trade Office, Wednesday (13/07).

On the occasion, Dr. Hening revealed the interest in the process of new entrepreneurs formation in Prodi Agriculture Industrial Technology using variety of new methods such as approach of creative process and design thinking. The approach that has been done in the past two years in developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Unpad involving Pentahelix concept is necessary to then be disseminated through the flagship program of the Government of West Java Province.

Furthermore, Dr. Hening expressed that the interest was also because TIN FTIP Unpad has been known for its achievements in initiating new entrepreneurs formation. One of the accomplishments that have been achieved was the National Entrepreneurship Award Activator 2015 by one of the staff educators, Dr. Dwi Purnomo, S.TP., MT, as well as various community and student entrepreneurs that they guided.

Meanwhile, Dean of FTIP Unpad Dr. Edy welcomed the appreciation from Disperindag Jabar. He also would invite The Local Enablers—Unpad young entrepreneurs of communities under the guidance of Prodi Agriculture Industrial Technology—to facilitate the prospective new entrepreneurs. This involvement would also be an important medium of learning and would encourage new entrepreneurs. Furthermore, this activity would be continued by development of the business community through creative approaches that would support Unpad in contribute positive impact on the development of West Java.

Unlike the previous curriculum, the establishment of these new entrepreneurs would be introduced to various ways of thinking and methods supporting independence in the process of innovation. Some of the materials presented included the Design Thinking approach, Business Model Canvas, Customer Journey, The Empathy Map, Creative-Partnership Networks, Creative Process, Socio-Technopreneurship and Business & Product Development. The material would be delivered with the latest learning techniques.
Prodi TIN’s success in gaining the trust to assist new entrepreneurs is a real success of consistency in realizing the Grant for Program Study Program (HUPS) – aiming to become a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in the field of Technopreneurship and Small Medium Enterprises. With this addition, it is expected that this process would contribute good impact for the development of West Java, according to the vision of Universitas Padjadjaran.
