Director of Human Resources Unpad Diana Sari, PhD, said that this training is a follow up from Placement Test held in June. Based on TOEIC selection of 256 participants, the directorate clarified all the grade for the participants based on A to I groups.

“Class for the training is Class C dan D with TOEIC result ranging from 400 until 494,” said Diana in her work room, Tuesday (27/07).

With group C and D participating, the training aims to further optimize English skills, especially communication office. Diana said that this group has the potential for enhanced communication capabilities.

“It is also to prepare Unpad as leading research universities and for regional competitiveness. This means that we have started to be ready, “said Diana.

With a focus on service improvement in the regional sector, Universitas Padjadjaran uses TOEIC selection models. This model is used to measure English proficiency of non-English speakers in everyday use in the office environment.

Groups A and B, said Diana, have TOEIC score above 500. This group has good communication capacity so they will be prepared to follow the advance level training, such as training to do a presentation in English, until the draft or reports in English.

Diana also said that the TOEIC result is also about mapping English proficiency among educators. “With this mapping we plan to distribute educational staff who are fluent in English. Hopefully this becomes a great stimulant for the others,” she added.

With this training, participants will be able to build the confidence to speak English. In addition, Diana expected the participants to encourage other education personnel to optimize their English skills.

“If confidence has grown, the desire to speak and learning is also increasingly possible,” said Diana. *
