Unpad Students Restocked Fish in Bendung Rentang Range Majalengka

[Unpad.ac.id, 16/08/2016] A number of Universitas Padjadjaran students participating in the activities of Student Field Work Experience (KKNM) in the Randegan Wetan and Jatitengah Village, District Jatitujuh, Majalengka restocked fish in Bendung Range District of Jatitujuh, on Saturday (13/08).

The event themed “Ka Walungan Ngaraksa Mikacinta tour” was initiated by the Randegan Wetan Village Head, Sunata, SE followed by several Unpad KKNM students, under the guidance of a lecturer from Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK), Universitas Padjadjaran, Prof. Yayat Dhahiyat, Dr. Zahidah, and Ujang Subhan, MSi.

The purpose of this activity is to provide a learning environment care for students of elementary school and junior high school, as well as an effort to preserve the types of fish that have started to decrease its existence so as not to become extinct. The event was attended by 1,200 elementary and junior high students from across the Jatitujuh District, Majalengka which performs Jamboree. In addition, the event was also attended by students from 12 KKNM Unpad village of around 240 people.

The restocked fish species are 3,000 patin and 1,000 nilem. This activity was attended by Head of Jatitujuh Subdistric Drs. Yoyo and Head of Education Majalengka Dr.Imam P., MPd, who is also the Chairman Kwarcab Majalengka. The expected output of this activity is the growing sense of love and care for environment from an early age, especially in preserving the fish that are in the community. *
