[Unpad. ac.id, 2/08/2016] Rector Universitas Padjadjaran, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad inaugurated 2,547 graduates on Graduation Ceremony Batch IV Academic Year 2015/2016, in Grha Sanusi Hardjadinata Unpad, Jln. Dipati Ukur No. 35 Bandung, 2-4 August 2016. These graduates are from Doctoral, Magister, Specialist, Profession, Bachelor, and Diploma program.
“To all the graduates, part of the community, I am proud of you and hereby I leave the good name of Universitas Padjadjaran. Keep the twine of friendship with alma mater, so that together we devote our potential into a benefit for the nation of Indonesia, “said Rector in his speech.
In particular, Rector also congratulated graduates with honors for each level. Best graduate of Doctoral Program was achieved by Sukiman from Management Studies Program Faculty of Economics and Business. Best graduate of Magister Program was achieved by Anissa Saraswati Raksanagara of Prodi Management (Science) Faculty of Economics and Business. Best graduate of Specialist Program was achieved by Prajna Metta of Periodontics Study Program Faculty of Dentistry. Best graduate professional education program was achieved by Nurul Hidayah from Dentistry Study Program Faculty of Dentistry. Best graduate of Bachelor Program was achieved by Ayuni Cipta Dewi of Faculty of Animal Husbandry. While best graduates of Diploma III was achieved by Fazlan Mualif of Accounting Department, Faculty of Economics and Business.
In addition, Unpad also presented awards to oldest graduates, Marleen Sunyoto of Science Program Faculty of Agriculture, who graduated at the age of 62 years and 4 months, and youngest graduates Fatimah Alfritta Rindani of Accounting Studies Program Faculty of Economics and Business who graduated in age 19 years and 11 months.
On the occasion, Rector also revealed a number of ideas related to the development and advancement of Universitas Padjadjaran, as well as a variety of information about what has been done in the last three months Unpad.
One of them was the development of innovation. Rector said that the development of innovation and need to be based on ethical values that are capable of controlling and directing the development of innovation for the benefit of society at large. Rector also quoted Kirsten E. Martin stating that innovations, among others, could affect a lot of people and that innovation is a shared responsibility.
“In consequence, Universitas Padjadjaran believes that innovation needs to be based on the values of ethics ensuring that such innovation will not be abused or having negative impact on the wider community. On the contrary, the innovations developed should provide the greatest possible benefits for the wider community. We refer to innovation based on ethical values such as innovaethics, “said Rector.
In relation to strengthen the role of Unpad in maintaining ethical development and innovation, Unpad set by the Directorate General of Intellectual Property Ministry of Justice Republic of Indonesia as one of the four state universities in Indonesia assigned to develop the Support Center of Technology and the National Innovation in order to support innovation through access technology with the ease of obtaining information and data from the Data Center at the World Intellectual Property Organization.
“At Universitas Padjadjaran, with a pattern of Scientific Principles (PIP), namely ‘Bina Mulia Hukum dan Lingkungan Hidup in National Development’, innovative research projects development will always be based on the values of ethics and philosophy contained in the PIP, “said Rector. *
