[Unpad.ac.id, 16/09/2016] With the theme of “Preparing Yourself To Become Manpower Professional Business and Industry Facing Globalization Era” Study Program Business Administration (AdBis) Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisip) Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) held a Studium Generale to welcome the teaching and learning activities in the first semester, in the Multipurpose Room Floor 4 Building 2 Campus UNPAD Jl. Dipati Ukur No. 35, Thursday (15/9). The event was attended by the Student of 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 classes.
The event is held regularly at every semester in order to enhance the spirit of learning for students of Business Administration by featuring speakers who are competent in their fields to be motivated to be gain more advanced knowledge, capabilities and others. On this occasion Study Program Business Administration invited speakers Dr. Drs. Achmad S. Ruky, MBA, a Management Consultant who is also Commissioner of PT. Krakatau Steel 2015-2016. Besides attended by students from Unpad Jatinangor, the event was also attended by 21 new students of Unpad Multicampus Pangandaran.
In his presentation Achmad S. Rucky described the importance of being professional in the world of work. “Professionalism was referring to how we do it and not on the job or profession that we do. As professionals we must have knowledge, abilities, and attitude, “said Achmad.
Furthermore Achmad said the attitude would determine everything, because attitude, ethos, and ethics of professionalism are keys. All areas of good work business profession, industry and educators must respect the code of ethics of honesty as a manifestation of a professional.
The event ended with awarding the “Special Award” for outstanding students at the faculty and national level as well as the success of the students in completing the coursework, followed by the introduction of the Student Association of Business Administration for New Students of the profiles, history and achievements, work program, and future student orientation for Business Administration by the Chair of Business administration Students Association.
The event was opened by Head of Study Program Business Administration Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran, Dr. Arianis Chan, S.IP., M.Si. In the speech she said that this Studium Generale is indispensable in order to foster an attitude of professionalism among the students to face the globalization era and became one of the ways for the pursuit of Unpad as World Class University in 2025.

Arianis also hoped that all the students participated wholeheartedly to listen to the speakers’ material and could take advantage of this event. *
