[Unpad.ac.id, 21/09/2016]  The development of Islamic finance industry has continued to apace. Currently, Islamic finance industry becomes an important factor in sustaining the country’s economy. Higher educational institutions as a place to prepare human resources, including for sharia finance should play an active role to support these developments.

Further, Dr. Arief said, the Islamic finance developed in college should aim to develop the potentials in the society for larger interests.

The ToT was held in cooperation between Faculty of Economy and Business (FEB) Unpad and Financial Service Authority (OJK) and attended by approximately 150 participants from various institutions of higher learning in Indonesia. Hopefully, the participants of this training will share the information from the ToT to the students and other practitioners.

According to Dr. Arief, this activity is an effort from Unpad and OJK to share knowledge in the university and as the OJK’s effort to approach the community. “So the knowledge can be used to improve Indonesian economy,” he said.
