[Unpad.ac.id, 14/11/2016] Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) for Universitas Padjadjaran Students was held for a week since 7 November. Faculty of Cultural Sciences won the overall prize in the competition, followed by approximately 200 participants from 16 faculties in Unpad.
MTQ Chairman of the Jury, Prof. Dr. I. Syarif Hidayat, M.S., said FIB Unpad won the overall champion with the acquisition of medals of 7 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze medals. It was delivered by Prof. Syarief in closing ceremony of Student MTQ Week Unpad in Bale Sawala Jatinangor campus, Monday (14/11).
The closing ceremony was attended by Rector Unpad, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, Director of Student Affairs and Alumni Dr. Ir. Heryawan Kemal Mustafa, M.Sc., Head of Unit Management Hadiyanto A. Rachim Mosque, S. Sos., M.I.Kom., As well as a number of Dean and Manager of Student Affairs in the Faculty.
Based on a decree read by Prof. Syarief, FIB won first prize at the Hifdzil Qur’an Juz 5 Men Competition, Hifdzil Quran 10 Juz Women Competition, Syarhil (quiz) Qur’an, Calligraphy for Men and Women Competition, Qur’an Content Debate Arabic version, as well as Application Design of the Qur’an.
Chairman of activities, Dr. Hazbini, M.Ag., said the number of participants of FIB Unpad was the largest contingent during the week of MTQ this time, i.e. 40 people. Followed by a Fikom contigent totaling 31 people, and the Faculty of Pharmacy as many as 21 people.
The prize is given symbolically by the Rector to one representative of FIB winner. On the occasion, the Rector appreciated all the effort that has been undertaken by participants, organizers, and the jury. “This is the part we were not just doing activities, but these efforts provide inspiration and kindness,” said Rector.
