[Unpad.ac.id, 19/11/2016] The values of the local culture can be explored as one of the nation’s identity nowadays. Some authorities believe that local knowledge has not lost its scientific value to the source of scientific knowledge and developed lately. It became the Universitas Padjadjaran interests to explore the values of indigenous inherited ancestors in the form of ancient manuscripts.

Cooperation interdependence between the Directorate of Research and Community Services, Universitas Padjadjaran, Library Unit of Faculty of Geological Engineering, Study Program Information and Library Science, Universitas Padjadjaran, students Prodi Communication Studies UT, Community Sundanese Dangiang Unpad, as well as members of the government in the region Jatinangor successfully held Dissecting Manuscript with theme “Geological Biases in the Sunda Ancient Manuscripts” at the Seminar room, 2nd Floor Library Unit Building Jatinangor October 26.
The event is aimed as an effort to familiarize themselves in the search for the reference comparison of manuscripts (codices) the work of the ancestors of Sundanese very valuable, as well as to disseminate information sources of local knowledge as a source of reference in both internal and external of Universitas Padjadjaran.
In the release sent to Unpad PR, this event presented among others Lectures of Sundanese Literature FIB Unpad, Dr. Undang Ahmad Darsa, M.Hum., and Dr. Phil. R.N. Purnomowulan, MA, Lecturer of Faculty of Geological Engineering Dr. Cipta Endyana, M.T., with moderator Samson CMS., S.Sos., M.I.Kom., from Study Program Information and Library Fikom Unpad.

One of the speakers, Dr. Undang said that as a university born in West Java, Unpad is obliged to consider and, at the same time, explore the various sources of academic information based on the wealth of local knowledge. Carrying the Principal Scientific Pattern (PIP) “Bina Mulia and Environmental Law in National Development”, the more clearly implies that Unpad should have great attention to various references local knowledge that can be extracted from the Sundanese culture.
This event was attended by participants from among students, faculty, staff, until Muspika elements in District Jatinangor, Cibiru Downstream, and Cileunyi. On the occasion, many participants appreciate and hope that this event becomes a regular activity and lots to explore various local cultural values in the Sundanese script.
According to the Wina Erwina, MA, as the head of the Library Unit Unpad, the dissecting of ancient Sundanese manuscripts held in the socialization of the work program Community DSP Library Unit Unpad and the dissemination of activities of Prime Research Universities (PUPT) 2016, entitled “Revitalization Values Culture Sunda Through Paribasa Application and Sundanese script in Informal and Non-formal Education in the district of Bandung”.
The event of dissecting ancient Sundanese manuscript is scheduled to be held three times on the same theme, means that each theme will be held within six months. It is expected to achieve the level of understanding and appreciation of internalization in more depth. *
