Padjadjaran Education Festival 2016 Encouraged Students To Further Know Unpad

[Unpad.ac.id, 6/11/2016] Department of Education and Profession Student Excecutive Body (BEM) Kema Universitas Padjadjaran held the annual Padjadjaran Education Festival (PEF) 2016 in Gor Jati, Campus Unpad Jatinangor, Sumedang, Sunday (6/11).

PEF event was held to introduce various faculties and departments in Unpad to the high school students and their peers who want to continue their education at Universitas Padjadjaran.

Chief Executive of PEF 2016, Naura Nabila, said the background of PEF is to promote and emphasize the importance of Unpad higher education to the equivalent of high school students throughout Indonesia.

“The goal is to introduce and promote Unpad profile, so Unpad becomes more favorable. Moreover we are also emphasizes the them of higher education importance to high school students,” she said during the event.

Naura added that the number of participants exceeded the 2016 PEF committee target. The committee was targeting for 10 thousand participants, and more than 11 thousand participants attended this event. This is due to the increasing number of students who are interested to know more about Unpad. This has made the committee a little bit overwhelmed.

“When the registration is closed, there were still many parents and prospective participants who were asking for registration to be reopened. So, this year’s participants reached the number of 11,373,” she said.

Participants who attended, Naura continued, were students from all Indonesia. Many of the participants came from outside the city such as Jakarta. However, mostly they were from areas in Java.

Naura said the PEF series of events began in August. The first series was the introduction roadshow event PEF to 10 cities in West Java, essay competition and short films, test interest talents, to open info of Unpad campus. The theme of the essay competition and short films is how prospective students make Unpad as a “milestone” to achieve their dream.

PEF 2016 event went well. Naura and all the organizers hoped this event could raise the enthusiasm of the students to continue their education to college, and the college they choose is Unpad.

“We hope Unpad will always be the first choice,” said Naura.
