FTIP Unpad Actively Involved in New Entrepreneurs of West Java Program 2016

[Unpad.ac.id, 15/12/2016] Universitas Padjadjaran through the Faculty of Agricultural Industrial Technology (FTIP), participated in the New Entrepreneurs of West Java program 2016. This program aims to pursue the target of achieving entrepreneurs numbers in West Java of 2% of the number of people. Currently, the number of entrepreneurs in West Java is still hover around 1.3%.

Vice Dean I Unpad, Robi Andoyo, S.TP., M.Sc., PhD, said, FTIP Unpad focuses develop entrepreneurship as the basis of learning competencies. Students are expected not just prepared as a job seeker, but to create jobs.

“We are working with all stakeholders to develop entrepreneurship. Hopefully this could be the university’s participation in order to realize the increase of new entrepreneurship in West Java and Indonesia,” said Robi during his a speech in the New Entrepreneurs Alumni Jabar 2016 at Graha Sanusi Hardjadinata Unpad, Jalan Dipati Ukur No. 35, Bandung, Thursday (15/12).

The event was held by the Department of Industry of West Java in cooperation with FTIP Unpad. In the event, also attended the Regional Assistant for Economic Affairs and Development, Denny Juanda, Chairman of the Commission of 2 DPRD Jabar, Ridho Bambang Utama, Head Dekranasda Jabar is also the wife of the Governor, Dr. Netty Prasetiyani Heryawan, as well as about 1,000 entrepreneurs of New Entrepreneurs program participants in 2016.

In raising the percentage by 2%, Denny said, we need about 100,000 entrepreneurs more in West Java. New Entrepreneurs program is expected to boost the number of entrepreneurs and able to reduce unemployment and poverty in West Java.

“New Entrepreneurs program could also boost the economy and public welfare movement in West Java forward,” said Denny.

In this case, the administration was working with many state-owned enterprises and private institutions, including universities. Especially for business financing assistance, it was working with Bank Jabar Banten to provide low-interest loans to businesses. This is realized through Credit program Cinta Rakyat (KCR) with a low interest rate of 4%.

The cheap credit program is expected to be a solution for SMEs in West Java, which is often confusion in seeking capital for business development. “Currently, the provincial government had emphasized that there should be no reason not have the capital to the business,” said Denny. *
