Universitas Padjadjaran Rector Inaugrates A Number of Leaders in UNPAD Area

Rector of Universitas Padjadjaran, Prof.Tri Hanggono Achmad inaugurated the Director, Vice Dean, Directorate Secretary, Head and Secretary Office, and Commitment Planner Officials in Unpad Area. During his speech, Rector said that inauguration of structural official was an advanced implementation after Unpad decided as Legal Entity State University (PTNBH). To respond the rising challenges, a public university corporation needs the organization and governance to be able to answer them.

“The important point is that we have to continue to improve our governance, by keeping on perfoming the bureaucracy reformation chart that we have built. This governance is based on program need we build” said the rector.

One of the challenges that he officials often deal with is communication problem and coordination between job units. Rector explained, every official is fully concentrated on job units they embraced. However, every leader of job units should be connected to each other.

This challenge then is realized through the efficiency of official job units. One of the efficiency conducted is to maximize the vice dean’s role at the faculty level to one person. Rector said, changing a number of vice dean from two into one is done so that the communciation process and coordination can work optimally.

“The vice deans once consisted of three people, and then we changed it into two people and it still causes the challenge of job division coordination” continued him.

Strengthening the communication and coordination is not only done between job units, but it’s also done between job units and faculties. The maximum of ERP-based e-office system implementation and plan system, it should be able to minimize the communication problem between job units problem.

Another message from rector is the leaders of job unit should be able to maximize the role of educational staff. Currently, Unpad keeps improving its academic perfomance at either national or international level. Therefore, lecturers were encouraged to concentrate in tridharma aspect.

The leaders derived from the lecturers who are being inaugurated are expected to improve educational staff’s perfomance in every unit. “We hope that tedious are ready to fill in the positions which originally should be managed by educational staff” said the rector.

In the early 2018 we hope that, job units and faculties could do a stronger coordination to support better Unpad governance.
