Unpad Students Create Digital-Based Letters Identifier Tool

The tool named “Benalu Keladi” was created by Primadifa Thayib Noor Dradjatiananda, Dendi Hazik Fuadi, Anselma Ratna Henrieta Sihaloho, Gabriella Daviena, and Irnando Brima Ryandhika.

The idea of ​​making these tools originally emanated when Primadifa and the team saw there were some students at SDN Talagamukti, Dusun Citalaga, still having trouble in reading. So that they created a tool that can help students in the elementary school can recognize letters and read with a method that is fast and effective, that is with kinesthetic, visual, and auditory learning strategies.

“So the idea of ​​this tool is simple, to see the son of SDN Talagamukti who was not able to read even know the letters yet, continue to see the method of learning in elementary school is still somewhat conventional and supporters for learning is still lacking, so come up the idea to make that tool,” Anselma in the release received by Unpad Public Relation.

Benalu Keladi is a 3.5-inch size appliance based on raspberry pi. This tool can be turned on by connecting it to the power bank.

“To use it is easy, which is the screen visualize a letter/word to be followed by the user, then after completion, the user can hear it’s voice by clicking the voice button on the bottom right of the screen,” said Primadifa.

In addition to SDN Talagamukti, this tool also had implemented in a number of children around Jatinangor.

Benalu Keladi is planned to continue to be developed so that it can be utilized by every child nationwide.
