[unpad.ac.id, 08/13/2018] Six students of Unpad became delegates at the 2018 Asia-Pacific Model United Nations Conference (AMUNC) held at the University of New South Wales Sydney, Australia, July 8-13.

In the release received by Unpad PR, those delegates were Anisa Fauziah (Faculty of Law), Diera Diamantha (Faculty of Psychology), Dinandra Arhisy (Faculty of Economics and Business), Jeni Adriani (Faculty of Psychology), Rana Hafizhah (Faculty of Psychology), and Rio Putra Hadivatama (Faculty of Economics and Business). In addition to the six delegations, Unpad also sent a student who became Director in the ASEAN Committee, Giovanni Nickson Zefanya (Faculty of Communication Sciences).
The Asia-Pacific Model United Nations (AMUNC) is the largest annual model United Nations conference in the Asia Pacific region, organized by the United Nations Society (UNSOC). The academic conference is a simulation of the United Nations (UN) session where participants acted as delegates from various countries to discuss and debate international issues.
This time, the Unpad delegates acted representing various countries. Anisa Fauziah as the Indonesian delegate in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Diera Diamantha as Bangladesh delegate at the United Nations High Commissioner of Refugees (UNHCR), Dinandra Arhisy as the Japanese delegate at Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee (SOCHUM), Jeni Adriani as Canadian delegate at the United Nations High Commissioner of Refugees (UNHCR), Rana Hafizhah as Canadian delegate at the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), and Rio Putra Hadivatama as Bangladesh delegate at the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee (ECOFIN).
Unpad has twice sent its best delegates to compete in the AMUNC. The delegates assessed, this competition provided many benefits, such as being able to represent Indonesia in international seminars and conferences, develop knowledge and raise awareness about international issues, and improve leadership skills, analytical thinking, diplomacy, and public speaking, several assets for their development in the future. *
