[unpad.ac.id, 12/20/2018] Unpad won the 9th national ranking of the University of Indonesia (UI) Greenmetric 2018. UI Greenmetric is a system of rating of national and world universities conducted by UI regarding the efforts of universities in supporting environmental sustainability.

The UI Greenmetric 2018 ranking announcement was made in an event held at the UI, Depok Campus Convention Center, Wednesday (19/12). In the event, Unpad was represented by the Director of Facilities and Infrastructure Dr. Irwan Ary Dharmawan and Head of the Office of Environmental Management Dr. Teguh Husodo.
When contacted via telephone, Dr. Teguh said, there are six main indicators along with 10 parameter evaluations conducted by the Greenmetric UI. The six indicators include the regulation of land and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste, water, transportation, and education.
Dr. Teguh who also acts as chairman of the UI Greenmetric form 2018 compilation team explained, the rating of this ranking is based online. Each participant fills out the answer to the question on the page provided. This question will give a weight or percentage of the answers submitted.
“Automatically, the answers will be assessed by cybometrics laboratories and supported by justifications from the panel team,” said Dr. Teguh.
Although only answering the various questions prepared, each participant must also attach data that proves the answers, such as Decree documents, photos, activities, programs, as well as a list of results of research conducted by the university. The process of filling the form itself was conducted from September to November.
Further Dr. Teguh explained, the data in charging UI Greenmetrics forms came from all directorates in Unpad. This means that the process of filling forms involves all components of the university.
Of the six main indicators, there are several programs that get appreciation. Dr. Teguh revealed, the water management and conservation program, the existence of a data center, and campus transportation monitoring technology were programs that Greenmetrics team appreciated.
Six indicators in UI Greenmetrics’ assessment are actually Unpad’s daily work, both in the form of innovation, development, and routine. “If we want to maintain or improve our rankings, keep the ones that are already running and continue to develop innovation,” said Dr. Teguh.
Greenmetrics 2018’s UI Ranking was attended by 719 universities throughout the world. At the national level, as many as 66 universities participate in this ranking. *
