[unpad.ac.id, 1/21/2019] Japanese Literature Students of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Unpad, Siti Nurasiah, won 1st place in the Japanese speech competition “International Student Speech Contest in Japanese” held by Yokkaichi University at the Yokkaichi University Auditorium, Japan, January 12, 2019 ago.

The event was attended by a number of students from various countries who were undergoing studies in Japan. Nura itself is a one-year Unpad student participating in the Japanese Studies program at Mie University, starting September 2018 to August 2019.
“This event is the 15th speech contest. The aim is to find out the Japanese language skills of foreign students, “Nura said when contacted on Monday (1/21).
In the competition, Nura raised the topic of his struggle to achieve his goals. In his speech Nura expressed his efforts to learn Japanese until he succeeded in getting a scholarship to study at one of the universities in Japan.
“I want to share with other friends about my experience of learning Japanese. Although in the beginning I felt difficult learning Japanese, but until now I can continue to struggle to learn Japanese for my dreams,” She said.
Nura admitted, at first She did not expect to win the competition because She saw the competencies of other foreign students who were felt to be superior to her. She herself was interested in participating in the competition because She wanted to improve her ability to speak Japanese. During the training process, Nura also received support from various parties, including lecturers at Mie University and Unpad.
“I hope, hopefully my Japanese language skills can be improved even more, and in the future hopefully it can contribute a lot in many activities, can be proud of Indonesia and my alma mater,” She hoped. *
