“This TPBK service is not only for Psychology Faculty students, but also all students of Unpad,” said Vice Dean of the Faculty of Psychology Unpad Zahrotur Rusyda Hinduan, S.Psi., M.O.P, Ph.D.

Furthermore, the lecturer who is familiarly called Rosie explained that TPBK of the Faculty of Psychology Unpad has two objectives, namely to help Unpad students who have psychological problems and also as a place for Unpad Faculty of Psychology students to learn cases with supervision from Lecturers and Psychologists.

This TPBK at the Faculty of Psychology Unpad will be distinguished between personal problems and academic. For academic problems, will be handled by the lecturers and students from the Professional Psychology Study Program (Master Degree) in Educational Psychology Specialization. While for personal problems will be handled by lecturers and students from the Specialization of Adult Clinical Psychology.

“If what we see from the notes in the TPBK, the more that is the personal problems that might later result in academic,” said Rosie.

Some psychological problems faced by students such as prolonged stress, often self-harm, broken home, breaking up, often nervous, difficulty speaking, feeling hopeless, excessive sadness, depression, and so on.

“There are various psychological problems that may be faced by students. It is necessary for students to have positive social support, both from family, friends, lecturers or professional counselors. Appropriate support will help someone to deal with stress due to the problems they face, “Rosie said.

For students who wish to use this service, students are required to register by directly coming to the Unpad Faculty of Psychology TPBK. After registering, students will be given a schedule for counseling with the team.

In serving students, usually the TPBK team schedules several meetings, including interviews, psychological tests, consultations, and therapies that are tailored to the client’s conditions. Handling is individual depending on the problem at hand.

For handling certain problems, students can also be directed to the Unpad Psychology Service and Innovation Bureau (BPIP). In addition to cases requiring psychiatric treatment, the team will also direct it to a psychiatrist.

Not only dealing with psychological problems of students, lecturers from the Faculty of Psychology Unpad also often provide counseling training for guardian lecturers from a number of faculties in Unpad.

Rosie also advises students who have psychological problems to communicate with guardian lecturers or the Head of Study Program respectively. If it is not handled by the faculty, students can come to the Faculty of Psychology TPBK or BPIP.

“We are indeed open to all Unpad students for those who want to consult. But students are advised to speak with their guardian lecturers first. If not, you can go to the Head of Study Program, “Rosie said. *
